St. Paul’s Higher Secondary School is extremely proud to be associated with the Paulians’ Alumni Association which was officially established on 15th August 2000, at the Aizawl Club. The Draft Constitution was also accepted on this day. Hence, apart from its national significance, August 15th has also become the Alumni Foundation Day for all Paulians.The Paulians’ Alumni Association is a non-political voluntary organization of ex-students, faculty and associates aimed at helping the members keep in touch with each other and with the school as well. The Constitution provides that this association, while maintaining a close and responsible bond with the School should also scrupulously avoid any interference with the day-to-day administration of the School.
1. To promote the mission objectives, philosophy of education, statement of faith, life and conduct, and to strive to preserve the heritage and lofty traditions of the school.
2. To support the school on students and Alumni career development.
3. To provide for and institute scholarship and other schemes which aim at encouraging, motivating and helping deserving students.
4. To keep alive the Paulian spirit and re-live the happy school days.
5. To foster and promote goodwill through mutual trust, respect and collaboration among the members of the Association.
6. To channel the energies and potential of the members towards constructive works in social, economic, educational and cultural fields.
7. To inculcate the spirit of scientific approach, keeping in view the fast developing field of information technology.
8. To achieve a genuine two-way communication between the School and the Alumni and to stimulate and encourage alumni response and initiative in collaborating with the School in its efforts to provide better facilities to the students.
1. The Association was able to put up a wonderful charity event called MIZORAM FOR GUJARAT on 16th February, 2001 in aid of the earthquake victims of Gujarat.
The Association was proud to be able to donate Rs. 1, 00,001/- (Rupees one lakh and one only) to the C.M’s Relief Fund for Gujarat earthquake victims.
2. The Association has also been able to give Paulians’ Alumni Proficiency Awards to Top Ten rank holders from the School in the Board Examinations every year.
The motive behind such awards is to encourage and motivate the students and to inculcate in them the spirit of competition and the determination to strive for excellence.
3. Paulians’ Alumni audio cassette PAULIANS’ REMINISCENCE, a collection of songs from various Alumni artistes was released on the Alumni Foundation Day function
in 2001.
4. Dr. Christina Zothanpari Chawngthu, one of the top rank holders at the All India Civil Service Examination, being an ex-Paulian, was also felicitated at the Alumni
Foundation Day, 2001.
5. A felicitation programme was also organized in honour of Mr. C. Simon, who was awarded the prestigious National Award for Teacher in 2003.
6. In recognition of their invaluable service for the School and Community, tokens were presented to the Principals – Rev. Bro. T.J. Jose and Rev. Bro. P.K. James on their departure from the School.
All former pupils of the School and faculty members are eligible to become members of the Paulians’ Alumni Association on payment of Rs. 100/- as Membership Fee. Persons become Life Members by paying a fee of Rs. 1,000/-. Patron Members pay Rs. 2,000/-. By Constitution Provision, the Principal is the Chief Patron of the Association, and the Secretary is selected from the School Staff by the Authority. They are the ex-officio members of the Association.
The School has allotted one fine room to be used as the Office of the Alumni Association. This was inaugurated by the Alumni President, Mr. John Neihlaia (HLSC Topper and presently Commandant, 1st MAP).
The Association is proud of the School, the Principal, Vice Principal, all the Staff Members and the students for their openness, active cooperation and support that they have extended over the years. The Association also acknowledges with high esteem the recognition the School has given to it in all the school activities and functions.
All the ex-students of the School are invited to be a part of the Paulians’ Alumni Association. Let us remind ourselves of how much we have learned and gained from the School. Let us all unite and join hands in the Alumni Association and do something good for the Alma Mater. Bring your Paulian friend too.
